New Development – Nottingham
Tube-Lock® tubes can be used for many purposes. Most often Tube-Lock® tubes are used as continuous standards and ledgers. They are applied as an alternative to traditional tube and fitting scaffolding in which tubes are connected with each other by sleeve couplers.
However, besides the standard purposes, Tube-Lock® can be applied in other situations too. In this new development in Nottingham, Attridge Scaffolding has used Tube-Lock® tubes as edge protection as well. They used 2m Tube-Lock® for the uprights and connected the Tube-Lock® tubes with each other to create a continuous guardrail for the structure. The uprights and guardrails are connected with each other by regular couplers.
Attridge Scaffolding has also used Tube-Lock® tubes to erect the external access scaffold. To complete the scaffold, Attridge Scaffolding has applied the 5+3 extender transoms. The Tube-Lock® tubes combine the speed of system scaffolding with the flexibility of traditional scaffolding. Together with the transoms extender transoms, they form the complete external access scaffold.
The advantage of these transoms is that they are fitted with extenders. When the extenders are fully extended, they fit 3 boards. This enables the brickwork to be built up progressively through the scaffold. An additional advantage is that the fixed wedge couplers make setting the distance between standards easy. The transoms are fitted to the ledgers, creating a uniform distance between standards.
